Grid Order Entry Interface

Grid templates facilitate the entry of sales orders and configuration of matrix items alongside items with related characteristics. While placing orders, you can review item details such as Item Name, Location, Available Quantity, and Price. For certain transactions, both grid order entry and traditional grid order printing are available. When grid order entry isn’t feasible, you can print matrix items in grid format using grid print templates for transactions and forms. Built into your NetSuite account, Grid Order Management is reachable as a shared SuiteApp. For assistance with acquiring the SuiteApp and integrating it with your account for installation, contact your NetSuite account manager. Currently, only the English language is supported by the Grid Order Management SuiteApp.

Standard Grid Order Printing

With this feature, you can produce transaction records for items added using Grid Order Entry in grid format. Only sales and purchase orders can be printed using standard grid orders.

Grid Print Templates

This capability lets you print transaction records in grid format, utilizing customizable grid templates. Grid print templates are available for cash transactions, invoices, packing slips, sales tickets, purchase orders, quotations, and sales orders.

Bulk Grid Printing

This functionality allows for the printing of multiple transaction records using grid print templates. Cash sales, invoices, packing slips, sales tickets, quotations, and transfer orders may all be printed in bulk through grid printing.

Configuration of Grid Order Management SuiteApp

Prerequisites

Before downloading Grid Order Management, ensure your account has the requisite functionalities enabled. Go to Settings > Company > Enable Features.

Installation

Only administrators can install the Grid Order Management SuiteApp. You must set up the options for your account and activate the necessary features before installation.

Roles and Permissions

After installing the SuiteApp, you can tailor roles and settings to align with the demands of your business. The following custom roles become available after installing the Grid Order Management SuiteApp:

  • CEO – Grid Order Entry
  • CFO – Grid Order Entry
  • Sales Manager – Grid Order Entry
  • Sales Vice President – Grid Order Entry
  • Sales Administrator – Grid Order Entry
  • Sales Person – Grid Order Entry

Grid Order Preferences

Customize the grid order entry form, print the grid, and choose your preferred grid template. You can adjust the parameters of the Grid Order Entry form using the Grid Order Preferences feature.

Setting Grid Templates

You can also create unique grid print templates using the Grid Order Management SuiteApp for specific transaction records. After deleting a template used for printing grids, you need to update your grid printing settings.

Managing Grid Orders

To add orders to your transactions, utilize the grid templates you have created. The procedures for creating order transactions are followed while inputting orders via grid. Within a grid setup, you can apply one or more templates.

  • Each Grid Order Entry form can utilize a single template for adding orders to transactions. To achieve this, ensure that the item price has been set in the item record for each pricing tier and currency.
  • Grid Order Management only supports these item types:
  • Inventory items (Serialized and Lot Numbered)
  • Assembly items (Serialized and Lot Numbered)
  • Matrix items (Assembly, Inventory)
  • Non-Inventory, Other Charge, and Service item types are not supported.
  • The Grid Order Entry form does not incorporate customizations applied to order transaction forms.
  • Inventory modification grid matrix templates cannot be utilized with the Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory Management function if you have serialized and lot numbered products.
  • When utilizing multiple currencies, the selected currency is applied to all order-related transactions and cannot be altered.
  • You may print new transactions and forms utilizing grid print templates after installing Grid Order Management. To see the Print Grid option for existing transactions, you must adjust and save the record. This step is not required for printing standard grid orders.
  • Grid order printing is not available for transfer orders and inventory modifications.
  • Only sales orders can be entered using multi-grid order entry.
  • The Grid Order Entry form is not visible on mobile devices.
  • On the Grid Matrix Information subtab of parent matrix item records and for templates on the Grid Order Entry transaction form, only the use of the % wildcard character is supported. See the examples below to find column values that start with, end with, or contain the specified characters:
  • str% – Retrieves values that commence with str.
